Welcome to the TENET website! While no virtual visit can match the experience of a TENET concert, there is much here to enjoy. We invite you to sample the many examples of unique quality of TENET’s artistry and want to particularly draw your to attention The Green Mountain Project, our annual New Year’s presentation of Monteverdi’s magnificent Vespers (this year presented in the version first performed in 1640). We hope that either you have come to our site because you have been moved or inspired by one of our performances, or that the quality of what you found here will bring you to one of TENET’s concerts at St. Ignatius of Antioch or other venues. TENET is particularly excited to have been invited to perform at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on February 3, 2012 where the program will be: Portraits in Song: Renaissance Italy From Ciconia to Petrucci presented in conjunction with the Met’s Renaissance Portrait from Donatello to Bellini.
We are gratified by the wonderful support we have received from our audiences and from the press. As a result, we are experiencing remarkable growth. We’re already planning almost a dozen performances in New York this year. We are quickly becoming one of the city’s most active performers of early music. But every one of our performances takes place because of the financial support of generous contributors. As the demand for TENET performances grows, so does our need for the funds to sustain our work. The Green Mountain Project is a particularly demanding production – and because last year so many people were turned away at the door – we are committed to adding an additional performance in New York, as well as one in Boston; a very expensive proposition, indeed. Therefore, please consider clicking on the “Give” button on our site, and joining our growing number of supporters. Our brilliant Artistic Director, Jolle Greenleaf, envisions TENET as the center of a community of artists and audience and we would be delighted to add you as a member of our unique and wonderful musical community.
We do very much look forward to seeing you at a TENET concert this year and are grateful for your support.
